My next band is gonna be called Alt-Rock Legends. So that way when they re-issue our records on 3-sided 180gsm colored vinyl with chipboard sleeve and 130 page book, they can write about "alt-rock legends Alt-Rock Legends legendary alt-rock masterpiece."
Is Legendary Alt-Rock Masterpiece the follow-up to Legendary Debut Album, or was Acclaimed Follow-Up next?

I've been having to rear some terrible "modern rock" station, and have found that Green Day, Sum 41, and U2 all have shitty new singles. Sum 41's is far and away the worst. It's 2023 and you're still sounding like Avril Lavigne.

Had no idea they were still around. They opened for the Offspring when I saw them in 2001. 23-year old zircona1 was annoyed, like, "who are these kids?"

Joe Biden could probably get a real bump in the polls if he could manage to broker a treaty between Hall and Oates.

Bill Haley and the Comets invented corporate rock.

In 1947 Ayn Rand wrote the guidelines for the MPAA to ensure that the films being made were not corrupted by anti-American messaging. These guidelines were released in the form of a pamphlet by the association. Among many things on it Rand demanded that a film should not depict a rich character as having negative characteristics that were a result of their wealth. Also she indicated that an impoverished character should not be portrayed as a victim of circumstances, only their own moral failure.
The American resistance to class consciousness was literally baked into the entertainment industry.

I was kind of obsessed with "Rock Around the Clock" for a spell. Still am, actually. I like to put myself in the minds of parents aghast at what they were hearing pouring out of their kids' radios, and it's just a rad party song.

Because what better encapsulates American values than the kooky personal philosophy of a Russian nutcase?
