I told a friend about this movie and the first thing he said was "What's it about? Since then I have started dropping it in conversations in response to stupid statements or questions ("How many teams are in the Pac-10?" "Snakes on a plane!")

I was spreading the word of this impending masterpiece by email and accidentally typed Snacks on a plane.
SNACKS ON A MUTHAFUCKIN PLANE!

I was out drinking last week and mentioned "Snakes on a Plane". Nobody believes that there is actually a film being released with such a FUCKING AWESOME* title.
They'll believe when I start representin' in my Snakes on a Plane t-shirt. I almost order 7 of them.
*Substituted for their actual response of FUCKING RIDICULOUS.

I've used the phrase twice today and feel that I'm getting better at it.
One thing, though: I used the phrase at band practice last week and my band mates looked at me like I was an idiot. I tried to explain it to them, all about the movie and how the phrase is a growing phenomenon, especially on the internet, and how I thought that in a few months they'd be hearing it EVERYWHERE, but now they just think I'm an idiot.
I recommend not trying to explain it. EVER. Just use it and go. Snakes on a plane, man.
Our band has a show tonight and I'm going to try and slip it in as stage banter. Fuck my band mates.

Fear not--before long, your bandmates will be in awe of your ability to get the jump on cultural phenomena, and the ladies of Lincoln, NE will be begging you do unleash snakes in their planes. All because you were the first!
For the record, my bandmates are not as gripped with snake fever as i, but they are most definitely thrilled that this movie exists. References to it will be all over our stage banter next time we play a show. In fact, i may just rename all our songs variations on the snakes on a plane theme.

I believe the insertion of 'snakes on a plane!' during one of the breaks in 'dog and pony show' might be in shellac's best interest. I have it pictured now in my head and am letting out a belly laugh.

Actually, Shellac's song Wingwalker already has the line: "Look at me, I'm a plane", so it's kind of a natural. = "Look! Snakes on a Plane".
I'm just sayin'.
