This friend of mine is not a monster. He's one of the nicest, most caring, most giving guys I've ever known.

Unfortunately, he's also only attracted to kids. What am I supposed to say to him if he gives in to this attraction? "You're a fucking disgusting human being, get out of my sight, stop talking to me?" No. I honestly don't know how I would handle it if I heard he did something. Probably, part of me would blame him and part would sympathize.

He's courageous, though. He's dealing with it. That doesn't sound like what a monster would do. He's more courageous than I am. I don't have anything heavy like that to deal with.

That's a false dichotomy.

Of course they're responsible. They should face disapproval for their actions, even if they have to struggle like mad to contain themselves.

These guys walk around all day telling themselves what pieces of shit they are. They don't need us chiming in.
