yeah the feedback on that boss pedal sound pretty artificial, but it's kind of fun. it sounds like the feeback you get when you have a chorus pedal on, except no randomness, just sustain.

You're gonna love 'em...especially the TP on bass. I think it's really cool that Devi has decided to put out that artifact series...I just wish she had done it earlier!

The whole $55 fuzz thing looks kinda like it was specifically designed to destroy my personal finances.

Okay, I got the DN in the mail today and it's INSANE. Honeymoon period or whatever, but it sounds like tearing a car in half. It would have to be described in terms of small sharp things - shrapnel, a hail of broken glass, a swarm of mutant locusts with a taste for human flesh.
Also, if I turn the intensity all the way up and roll off the volume on the guitar entirely I get Mexican radio and a black preacher. Only audible under those precise circumstances.

Wow, I've heard about the $55 pedals before, but for some reason I've never given them much thought. They get loud, don't they? Judging from the samples, it sounds like the DB and the SM are for me.

for those reasons in ended with 2 new distortion pedals this week.
i already have:
Tech 21 XXL (the old one): You know, RAWR tone, lots of distortion, can get almost fuzzy in high-gain and fiddling with the gain knob. the volume of the pedal is ridiculous, i always use it at nine o clock, more is WAY TOO MUCH.
con: the distortion at minimun is still too much gain.
new ones:
Digitech Bad Monkey: bought this to a)test my new shiny credit card (i suck) b) heard rave reviews about them and c) because i wanted something with low-gain, and it was cheap online (30 $). i tried it in last rehearsal with the twin and didn't liked it at all, but it sounds good thru my modelers at home. need to fiddle with the settings more.
MXR Distortion+ : bought it REALLY cheap (25 $) locally, i didn't even needed it and i planned to re-sell it for more. but i'm liking it. it does something middle road between the bad monkey and XXL. it does low-gain surprisingly well.
so i will take the three pedals with the twin and see how they work with the amp, and how they work with each other.

Torns Peaker.
Her stuff goes (in and) out of production pretty quick. Basically, if you see something you like...BUY IT.

i saw the TP in someone's FX board on talkbass and had a little chuckle at the name. it reminded me of an old post i saw on here about someone using a tube amp with a tube removed or something and blowing their 15 every few weeks and feeling that was an appropriate sacrifice for tone.
(i thought it was silly.)
