best record ever of all time and you know it!

Brainiac - Bonsai Superstar
Trenchmouth - vs. the Light of the Sun
The Replacements - Stink
tJL - Goat
PJ Harvey - Rid of Me
Nirvana - In Utero (which pretty much got me through high school)

I notice that no one is listing Shellac albums out of the fear of ass-kissery, but At Action Park is pretty darn good.

If I had to pick one, I'd say In Utero. Sorry. I know albums that sold 8 million copies are not eligible, but (post-production fuckery aside) I'm not sure anything that sounds like it has reached such a wide audience before or since.

I didn't say I had better taste. I'm just surprised that I don't really like any of this. At all.

I'm sure you're taste is second to none. However, you gotta PROVIDE, baby. :smt025

Yeah, what they said.
One of "they" being "me."
We wanna know.
Who knows, you may not get snubbed!

Indeed you are right.
I typed the post at 3pm, got on the phone, and it just sat there for about an hour before I posted it.

Then I didn't scroll back (shame).

Crazy timing thing.

Trenchmouth...isn't that the band that had the Ferocito guy from SNL as the drummer? are they good?

Goat is a fantastic album.

I don't have a set list of rankings or anything, but here are a couple favorites off the top of my head:

Flipper - Public Flipper Limited
Stooges- Fun House
Public Image Ltd - Metal Box
Black Flag - Damaged
Crucifucks - Crucifucks
Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime
Captain Beefheart - Lick My Decals Off, Baby
Descendents - Two Things At Once
Ramones - Ramones
James Brown - Star Time box set
Sly Stone - there's a riot goin' on
Birthday Party - Prayers on Fire
Miles Davis - literally anything, but Kind of Blue and Get Up With It especially

that's it for now
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

So many great records. I have to repost three of my own:

This has been my favorite album for the past ten years. Before all the Elephant Six revivalism. I believe I found out about Pet Sounds in some history of rock book that quoted the first lines of "Caroline, No". From there, I was hooked.

Go to rock record. My first favorite band. I bought this on cassette the day it came out, and it still sounds great to me.

My favorite record by my favorite band. Great songs, great playing. Lou Reed will never top the writing on this album.
