It would be refreshing if these people (with good taste, but in terrible bands) made a habit of introducing their live sets thusly:

"Sorry."

I reckon they're absolute rubbish, but there are probably many bands as bad as them.

Ultimately it doesn't matter much; the guy from FF is making a wage from playing crappy music and writing dull book(s). I'd consider doing it too if I was smart enough.

Hmmm, I enjoyed reading Alex Kapranos's food/tour diary column in the Grauniad. Having said that I didn't like them enough to buy the book.

So....I got Franz Ferdinand tickets for my birthday. I'm going with my girlfriend, and my flatmate and her boyfriend. FF is a good middle ground sort of band for us all to go to, and I think it will be a pleasant evening. It's at the Grand Ole Opry which is a cool venue.
I will keep an eye out for members of Shellac in the audience.

I was making an unsuccessful funny.

In terms of pop-rock NME-endorsed music, FF aren't that bad. I'd much rather listen to them than The Fratellis, Dirty Pretty Things, Kaiser Che(i)fs et al. This does not mean I like them particularly.

Their drummer is very good though.
