My earliest memories of loving music (about 5 to 8 years old) were riding around town in the backseat of my father's piece of shit camero listening to Nevermind, The Downward Spiral, Purple Rain, and Ten. Total grunge baby. It paved the way to me listening to a loooot of bullshit until I discovered Sonic Youth Big Black, and My Bloody Valentine in the 9th grade.

Wow I don't think I am that old but it appears your parents are very close to my age. What year were they born? I also gotta say, that's not a bad early exposure to music.

Twisted Sister! I was eight or nine I think. I loved the first three albums but was incredibly disappointed in Come Out And Play.

I'm trying to remember if the first band I was really in to was Adam and the Ants or Madness. I think Adam and the Ants may have pipped it. Around seven years old I was a great fan of "Stand on your Liver".

I was a victim of my parents record collection as well. Dad had all of frank Sinatra's albums and Mom liked J. Denver and Fucking Manilow.

I think the firts band I liked was Simon and Garfunkel. Cicelia is still one of my favorite songs and gets a reaction when sung at drum circles.

I can't remember one specifically but several stick out in my mind.

The Who, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.

First "band" I really liked was Waylon Jennings. Dukes of Hazzard had a lot to do with that. Jerry Reed too, via Smokey and the Bandit. The folks and my uncle (who played in a motown tribute band) got me into Temptations, Supremes, Bob Seger, The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan also. Still love all that stuff!

The Monkees, I was seven or so, I still like 'em too.

From there it was Elton John and Kiss...
