Well predicted. Maybe you're reading the wrong thread?

Nope. Right thread.

What would you propose a thread about Frank Zappa talk about then?

The thread about Zappa was done right around page 3 or maybe 4. This "thread" has truly degenerated into one person repeating the same bullshit over and over, and ignoring the fact that the whole basis of Crap/Not Crap is one person's opinion, not a bully pulpit to change other peoples opinion. But, to please the masses; I have heard Frank Zappa many times, through friends, my old employer, etc. His catalogue is so huge that I'm sure there is something for anyone to like, but at the same time, that was his whole point, fishing for new genres to make a comment about. Oooooh...Is Zappa Jazz? Is he Rock? Is he a composer? Boy he has a dirty mouth.
Was he a great player? That is certainly debatable. But that is not a debate that should span 10 pages and involve people being cast aside as "chain-wallet wearing punks" just because they don't agree with someone else who fucking LOVES Frank Zappa. I personally do not like his music, so I voted CRAP. Has he had some good things to say? Yes. Do I like his music? No, that's my opinion. Is that suitable? Of course not, see ya at page 16.

Talk about the music or get the fuck out of here. You keep coming back. If this bugs you so much, climb into your VW bus and get the fuck out of here.

Discuss his music or leave. There's been no serious discussion of his music at all amongst detractors. They mention the shittiest and most obvious/popular stuff he made, and can't say much else. I continually challenge this, but there's not much specifically said about his music other than by myself and capnreverb.

Then they keep coming back, saying I'm posting the same shit over and over, when in reality, they are posting the same shit over and over. And they keep coming back?

Do you have some sort of nerve damage? Can't control the mouse or something? Don't click on the link that is labelled "Zappa" if it bugs you so much.

Don't you think your talents would be better used on the goth/emo thread?

Fuck you and have a bad day, you fucktard.

This is a debate. Did you not read the description next to the crap/not crap link that read "vote and debate". Do you know how to debate?

A debate about opinions is meaningless. No one gives a flying fuck if you think Zappa sucks or not. Is he important? Is he crap or not? Which specific pieces of music are crap?

If you are not knowledgable about musicology or music theory, you can comment on other facts and cite other evidence (influential? theatrical? insightful lyrics? huge cock? timeless? derivative?)

You have limited this crap/not crap debate to suit your own needs. You do not understand what a debate is. Please stop visiting this thread. Do not stop by at page 16, unless you actually come back with specific examples of why Zappa sucks. Song names would suffice. I'll probably agree with you on most of them.

Really, all the drama with the "bully pullpit". I think we just found the new singer for Dream Theater.

Yep, I did. May I direct you to rule #3.

Yes. But that is a rule that everyone agrees not to follow. It can also simply be enforced by configuring this web application to do so, which has not been done.

"Vote AND debate"

Now that we hopefully understand that discourse is permitted, can you please start talking about the music of Frank Zappa or leave?

Let's go beyond 3rd grade here, and actually come up with some evidence, even low grade "sounds like Return to Forever" quips are fine. Let's talk about the music here, or sod off.
