I think the comment is more about why did someone need to make an unholy marriage of Telecaster and Les Paul this way?

I for one think flamed and/or quilted tops are more often ugly as shit than they are not. I realize I'm in the minority on that one. Plain grain or die.

Nothing wrong with the concept but that's kind of a wonky lookin' one. Fender actually makes (or made?) one called the Troublemaker which nails it, imo.

Right, it's really just a fancy looking Tele Deluxe at the end of the day, but its still cool to me.

Now....if it they did the same thing but a Guild Aristocrat angle i'd bite. Like a 2xP90, spruce top, Thinline tele with no F-hole. That sounds fun as hell.

The #1 most offensive thing that would make me actually ask "Lord why" about that flamed-up mule is that price tag.

I have a friend who really loves Fano guitars and owns a couple and I just fucking cannot.

It's just a link to Jim DeRogatis' WBEZ profile. I'm not exactly a fan, but that's pretty cold. Played with his band a couple times, he was nice enough.

Maybe we shouldn't call it a Telecaster then. Call it a More Paul or a TeleLes. Because there ain't much Tele there.
