I got it tonight. I liked the sound out of the box, but it has this issue where at max volume, it's a little lower than off. I don't really understand. Apparently the Wazacraft modded ones - new - sound closest to the old ones while fixing the volume issue.
Old boss distortion pedals were all over the place be design. The hm2 could just about triple your volume.
You could always stick the ds1 in a loop with and EQ pedal with a small boost if you have one?
