Says you, Teddy Bear.

Good result at the weekend for Hearts. I hope we can keep this form going.

It was even more nightmareish than that. Because it was on BBCi, it was actually interactive Chucklevision, so you could choose what the Chuckle Brothers did by pressing a button on your remote. But, it was supposed to have finished, so it was stuck on the same scene; every time I checked back, they were still arguing over whether to go to the 'dark mountain pass' or the 'haunted cave'. It was like some Kafkaesque Chuckle Brother nightmare.

(Apparently due to 'bandwidth restrictions' the BBC weren't able to show last night's matches on Freeview; they have promised no further such problems.)

Things I think I know about Wise going to Newcastle:

- Keegan seems partly nonplussed, which, in his passive-agressive away, means he's furious
- Wise had considered quitting a month ago, due to the stresses of touchline management and travelling from the south-east
- a big desk and a tripled salary will ease that problem
- his wife also thinks it's a good idea
- first idiot sighting: 7pm last night, texted into Radio Five - "time for O'Leary to bring the glory days back"
- I'd forgotten Steve McClaren is a Leeds fan - crivens
- Dave Bassett is manager of Leeds United this morning
- under the rules of the administration process, Ken Bates can sell the club this summer. One theory is that the reason he hasn't put up a fuss about Wise going, is that he's getting out soon as well
- it was too much to hope for Leeds to go through one season without some needless fuck up
- Dave Bassett is manager of Leeds United this morning
- A journalist on Radio Five last night pointed out the setbacks Keegan has had already - no Shearer, some cockney git becoming his boss - then looked at the forthcoming fixtures - Arsenal, etc - and speculated on his being gone within the month
- that's pretty funny
- Dave Bassett is manager of Leeds United this morning
- Leeds play Southend tonight
- with Dave Bassett in charge

To borrow a phrase, fucks sake Leeds.

In-fucking-deed. Wise brought him in as assistant after Gus Poyet left; that this coincided with Leeds 'blip' must surely be, y'know, coincidence. He's only caretaker, but still.

"Third division Leeds, managed by Dave 'Harry' Bassett, away to Southend on a Tuesday night in January..."

How did it come to this?!

Here's a pointer.

Although as a fan, I would have thought you'd have known that already Daniel....

Cruel, Simmo, cruel.

Reassuring words for the Geordie Nation from Little Kev:

"I am reluctant to tell you all I know as I really do not know anything."

Brilliant.

Dunno what to make of all this to be honest. I hate Wise but now he has been given the job I'll see how he gets on before I judge him.

Not being responsible for the running of the first team puts his job in a position of safety. He'll need it as he won't get many chances to rectify errors in judgement having the background he has.

That is funny and it's symptomatic of the whole fleet street derived NUFC saga of recent times. I just hope Mort & Ashley have learnt from the media frenzy of this season and ignore the media lies that are perpetuated up and down the country about NUFC.

Not a televised game goes by without a commentator mentioning that we haven't won a mjor trophy for fifty years, and that we get 50,000+ fans at every home game and that this must add up to extraodrinary fan pressure on the team to produce results and silverware.

Not one Newcastle fan I know demands silverware from the club. Not one Newcastle fan I know demands that we are in the top 4. Not one Newcastle fan I know wanted Sam Allardyce in charge of the club. Not one Newcastle fan I know knows what is going on with Michael Owen.
