phpBB [media]This band is playing Live Wire in Chicago next friday with Thantifaxath. Their new album is my favorite metal record of the year. Gives Portal and Obscura-era Gorguts a serious run for its money.

Recently, it's been Indian (RIP), Lord Mantis, and Coffinworm. Misanthropic life-denying sludge agrees with me. On another tip, I think Artificial Brain's Labyrinth Constellation from last year is one of the best metal records in recent years. Shades of Demilich, Deathspell Omega, and Voivod. Sweet.

Fantom Warior. Never heard these guys before, but so far they are a lot of things I like about metal.phpBB [media]phpBB [media]Apparently their demo, Morbid Invasion, was just reissued as a 12. Looks cool.

phpBB [media]3 of their early albums just got reissued, including this one. Underrated Swedish Death Metal. Love this album.
