From the AFP, 5 hours ago:

TEHRAN (AFP) — Iran warned on Wednesday that it could bomb Israel if it was attacked by the Jewish state, as the international war of words over the Islamic republic's nuclear drive escalated further...

...Israel said it was taking "very seriously" the threat. "Unfortunately we hear all too often belicose, extreme and hateful statements out of the Iranian leadership," Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Mark Regev told AFP.

The White House denounced it as "almost provocative".
Madness waits for some. It creeps up on others.

There was an interesting exchange between 60 minutes' Scott Pelley and Ahmadinejad. The full interview can be viewed here

Is it your goal to build a nuclear bomb?" Pelley asked.

"It is a firm 'No.' I’m going to be much firmer now, in political relations right now, the nuclear bomb is of no use; if it was useful it would have prevented the downfall of the Soviet Union; if it was useful it would resolved the problem the Americans have in Iraq," Ahmadinejad said. "The time of the bomb is passed."

Mr. Reuben - do you believe him?

Rick Reuben wrote:I find it preposterous that the only country on Earth to ever use atomic weapons offensively presumes to lecture Iran on their right to nuclear weapons.

Given what this administration has done in the last 6 years, I tend to agree with you. I don't know that I trust trust a man who answers "to a higher power" with nuclear weapons more than I should trust Ahmadinejad.

Coulter is pro-bombing, says it will benefit Wall Street.

Wow, that's the first time I've heard Ann Coulter speak or seen her move.... I've seen photos of her on the internet but never moving images. I'm... scarred. She's fucking repulsive! Absolutely vile and extraordinarily ugly woman.

Yuck, must go wash eyes.

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.

Quoted from 'News Hounds':

A Tiny Revolution noted, unlike FOX and the rest of the so-called liberal media, that an amendment containing the following wording was attached to the Senate FY2008 Defense Authorization bill:

(3) that it should be the policy of the United States to combat, contain, and roll back the violent activities and destabilizing influence inside Iraq of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its foreign facilitators such as Lebanese Hezbollah, and its indigenous Iraqi proxies;

(4) to support the prudent and calibrated use of all instruments of United States national power in Iraq, including diplomatic, economic, intelligence, and military instruments, in support of the policy described in paragraph (3) with respect to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies.

Add this to the near-hysteria over Iranian President Ahmadinejad's appearance in NYC today and the current front page of FOXNews.com and it is not outside the realm of possibility that the Bush administration intends to go ahead with yet another military misadventure.

Apparently, we have already authorized the ass-kicking.
