i think they decided to wrap it up this season 'cause they couldn't find any more good covers of "down in the hole." seriously, what's with the robbie williams impersonator they chose this time.
this series has stolen a good chunk of my young year so far. friend gave me the first seasons at x-mas & i was hooked after a couple of episodes. now i'm already caught up. someone mentioned watching while riding the stationary bike: that's funny...i used to do that with sopranos, but i've found i can't even eat when i watch "the wire." gotta concentrate.
what i loved about the first couple of seasons, was that it never felt like teevee. no overt "plot devices." unfortunately, that kinda started to fade with the developing omar storyline, much as i love him (from the beginning he always struck me as what prince would be like if he had grown up in west baltimore ). stringer bell playing him with that brother mouzon red herring felt out of character & it never really squared after that.
still, best television drama i've ever seen, with every single character still stuck in my head.

That is one of the strangest and coolest comments on Omar Little I've ever read.
And that Robbie Williams impersonator doing "Down in the Hole" this season - turns out that is, to my initial shock, Steve Earle. Very bizarre production on that song for a guy like him. He did the great song "I Feel Alright" for the season ending montage for season 2, but I agree, his take on "Down in the Hole" is kinda weird. I definitely don't love it, and haven't decided if I hate it yet. And sadly, I think he should stick to singing, as his acting is one of weaker points on the best show in television history.

He's a far better actor than he is a singer. I totally believe that he's an ex-junkie. His delivery isn't very good, but he has that look about him.

As a matter of fact he is an ex-junkie

155Regarding the series finale, just saw this online -
Any predictions? Templeton gets a promotion, Dukie becomes a junkie, and McNulty goes to jail. It will not be a happy ending to say the least.
If you go to the official schedule section of the site, it confirms that episode 60 will not be available OnDemand until March 10th. That means that every viewer gets to see the series finale at the same time, which is the way it should be for a series finale. It also confirmed that the episode is 93 minutes.

same predictions here + michael becomes new big man on campus or is at least going that way. hopefully something happens to that lawyer too.

An Irish wake for McNulty.

I'm gonna miss this show.
Methinks Michael gets got. How could he not? Templeton getting promoted is a good call. I also predict Gus gets canned. McNulty though? Who's gonna kill him? I say he gets fired as part of departmental cleanup initiated by Rawls (and condoned by Daniels).
And I think some kind of shit goes down involving the greeks. Exactly what I have no idea.

This show will definitely be missed. I think McNulty will probably off himself. I think he'll see that there is no escape from what he has created, and the one thing McNulty can't live without is the job. For some reason I see Michael picking up where Omar left off. Templeton will probably end up getting a job as a Republican speech writer.
