Yes, you did, because when I got there to purchase a copy for myself, they told me they had just sold the last one.

Sorry  ....Maybe Acadamy has it? Kim's didn't even know what it was....I had to spell S-H-E-L-L-A-C to the clerk!.....know wonder iTunes is so popular....so sad...so sad.

Good luck on your hunt!

Cool.

Hmmm... does anyone know yet what the sampling rate will be?

(Don't see it mentioned on the T&G site...)

some talk about burning 24-bit audio to DVD wrote:Currently, you can make a DVD-Audio disc or DVD-Video disc. Let's talk about these formats for a little bit. In order to play a DVD-Audio disc, your DVD player must support this format. This feature is being included in more and more DVD players, but many older DVD players will likely not play a DVD-Audio disc. DVD-Video, however, is a lot more common and any DVD player should be able to play the disc.

One important difference to note about the two files is that DVD-Audio will allow just about any sample rate, 44.1kHz, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, or 192 kHz. Conversely, DVD-Video discs must either be at 48 kHz or at 96 kHz.

I've had success doing this before (a Secret Chiefs 3 show that was recorded in 24/96) but I had to go the DVD-Video route (I know that sounds bass-ackwards, but it's due to the fact that I don't have a DVD-Audio capable player).

As with any large-ass audio files, it has to come off the hard drive sometime... and if you've paid for it, sure you want a backup, instead of just hitting 'Delete"...

Since I don't have an expensive-type turntable/cartridge/etc., then I may just give this a whirl - just to see how much better it can sound than the CD.

I bought mine at Kim's

The clerk seemed quite excited about it.

I only buy new stuff from Other. Kim's can blow me.

Besides, Other is going to put one aside for me.

I love Spoke. All that gibberish is a great ending to a strange album.

Every song has the same stop, very intentionally played. It's either the funniest joke I've heard or the worst cliché ever recorded and then purposefully repeated. I can't tell. Maybe it's both.

Todd's drumming is the best thing about this album, it's great even when it's intentionally sloppy. Of course, that's all owed to Steve for making Todd sound like he's punching me in the face every time he hits a tom. That isn't to say Bob's bass wasn't grabbing my balls and twisting. Lots of ball twisting on Bob's behalf. Steve's guitar cuts through my tinnitus very well. Tones are perfect, as expected.

It's getting better each listen. Then again, I wasn't a fan of Action Park or 1000 Hurts until the 100th listen. Although, Shellac needs an editor. Some songs are long. I remember watching Shellac play one of these songs to the point where I was about to ask them if they wouldn't mind finishing it up soon, we all have very important things to do. Sometimes dragging things out longer than expected works, sometimes it just sounds like the song should have ended a few minutes earlier. Both are the case on the album.

Awesome cover, btw.

BadComrade wrote:The longest songs are the best songs. They tease the fuck out of you, making you want them to, uh... "rock out", and when they do, god damn. Tension and release is one of my favorite things in music. So is repetition.

I think you have ADD.

I get the idea. Just because they did it, doesn't mean it worked on every one of them. S'all I'm saying. "Be Prepared," now that's a good long one with the start/stop dealies you love so much.
