I'll be a little disappointed if it was just the Joker giving him the wrong address.

It was. The cops showed up at the other address right as it blowed up, remember?

Right.

SPOILER...

I loved when the prisoner took the detonator and threw it out the window.
Surprisingly, I did not see that coming.

How were Rachel and Dent communicating with each other between the two sites? Cell phones? Why didn't Batman use all that cell phone surveillance capability to determine which prisoner was where, instead of just taking the Joker's word- or didn't he have that yet?

Don't think it was ready by that time.

So...Gotham has 30 million people in it?
According to Morgan Freeman when he was having his hissy fit about using that device.

Joker rigged up a land-line with speakerphone, you can see it quite clearly in one shot. Also I don't think he set that cell-phone-surveillance thing up until the bit with the boats.

did any of you audio types notice that batman's voice was outrageously over the top? i held back a laugh the first time i heard it. i'm largely with bob on this one. i couldn't really get into it because it was just one ludicrous thing after another for nearly 3 hours. i guess i can't suspend my disbelief like i used to.

Are you sure? Didn't Fox have that cell phone sonar ready when he met with the gangster in Hong Kong? Makes me think that Batman could have snooped out the GPS of any phone long before he started imaging the whole city.

Well I don't think he had THE BIG machine that captured the entire city at that point.

Could he have just used that technology for one?

Not positive. Was there even time?

Was nice to see the Watchmen preview and T4 on the big screen.

The Joker gave Batman the wrong address. It is a Joke.

Really? I thought Batman chose Harvey Dent purposely because he was going to take over for Batman as a hero with a face and that was why It was so fucked up.

Dork alert, but I was paying attention. As Batman jumps on his bike, Gordon yelled "which one are you taking?" or some such thing, and Batman, choosing his lady love over the future of Gotham, grunts out "Rachel." Then he clearly gets totally hosed. I think. Joker switched the addresses.

I guess in my mind
I'd heard so much about how dark the movie was going to be
and I said to myself
"he lied to look good and went for Dent instead"

It seems like Rachel knew this was the case as well. It seems like she knows her number is up while Dent is trying to tell her everything is going to be fine.

I saw it early this afternoon for only $4. Worth every penny. I totally enjoyed it. I thought Ledger nailed the "Killing Joke"/"Dark Knight Returns" type Joker and that the feel of the whole thing was very "Year One".

I hope that description makes sense to the Batman dorks reading this.
