Dude. I live in NL West land. I want nothing more than to watch the Dodgers lose.
Re: Let's Talk Baseball
152That was a tough one.
Hard not to think that it was mismanaged, Dan Wilson talking about how he didn't want Muñoz to come in to get eight outs, but that seems like the wrong way to look at it. Also potentially should have let Kirby go longer and not have given so much weight to Woo coming in to begin with a clean inning, after already having made a convincing appearance. Anyways, it is the first one that stings, as you will never know what it would have looked like if the best option for the spot had been tried.
Feels like they will be back though.
Blue Jays it is. This could be a great match-up. I feel like the Brewers would have even had a genuine shot if the bottom of the order had been as productive as the Jays' has been.

That mariners series was great - I hate that the Mariners had to lose

156Bumping this thread to the top in case anyone wants to comment on last night's game.
Told my girlfriend after Freeman was left in the on-deck circle in the bottom of the 17th that he was going to end this nonsense when he came up if the Blue Jays didn't score.
Not sure I've ever seen a stat line similar to Shohei's last night. Had 12 total bases after four at-bats and then came up - and got on - five more times.
I have to miss tonight because of a work thing and I'm pretty down about it.

157Dude is unbelievable. Watching him feels like watching late 90s steroid era baseball, only he's better than any of those guys and (assumedly) not on steroids.iembalm wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 5:52 pmNot sure I've ever seen a stat line similar to Shohei's last night. A good friend of mine who's out in LA got into baseball a couple of seasons ago, he's a Dodgers fan, and with the White Sox not having the most entertaining season I've been watching Dodgers' games fairly regularly... eventually found myself cheering for them. I'd love for a different team to take it this year though--especially a Canadian team. I'm just glad it's been such a close and fun to watch series.

159Sox fans must be relieved they’re not the worst team in the league this season.

Re: Let's Talk Baseball
160What a series. Can't remember having this much fun with it since I got back into baseball in 2019 (Nationals v. Astros went 7 games and the Wild Card / underdog Nationals took it w/ a go-ahead home run in the 7th of that final game) and then discovering and cheering on Arozarena in 2020, when we all needed the levity, though the Rays came up short in the end.
So, we might see the as-yet-unseen (as far as I know) side of the Ohtani rule tonight, if he ends up coming in in relief. Like say he comes in to pitch the 9th after Roki has gone a few innings (this assumes Yamamoto has not had the same type of outing that he has had so far) and they go into extras tied and Shohei can't pitch any more. Then he would possibly move to right field to keep his bat in the line-up and the DH spot would be forfeited (for the Dodgers), or is already forfeited from the moment he moves to the mound, to be more precise. The weird twist is then the subsequent relief pitchers would have to hit, no? Anyways, that's how I understand it.
Will Springer come back in in a key moment? Will he even start?
Is there a way to crack Yamamoto?
Psyched for this.
Edit: the above also applies for potential Yamamoto > Shohei > Roki or any variation of that.
