152I'm literally speechless.

Actually, two of the most recent amp models that I made (the Orange Rockerverb and the Diezel VH4) were done early in the pandemic at my home office/studio... which at the time was an RV trailer parked behind my house.
So, part of Kurt Ballou's live tone comes from an RV about 100 feet from where I am right now.
To be fair, when I really needed to crank it up I took it into the office/studio. Anything I could do when hooked to a dummy load was done at home.

155Amazing. That’s the kind of development process o want to get behind.benadrian wrote: Sat Aug 05, 2023 4:23 pm100%TylerDeadPine wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 11:36 pm FM Ben Adrian - is this what the process is like for you?

I’ve got a helix LT on the way!

156I’ve managed to stay away from these guys a long time. I also refuse to specify anything by Kramer. Then I get guys from the likes of Key Digital and Wyrestorm wanting a seat at the table.Kniferide wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:13 pm Analog Way Video Switchers, or more exact, the Web RCS control interface and order of operations. Horseshit.
If it isn’t one of the ‘Trons (Extron or Crestron), chances are I’m not putting it in my spec. If it’s an event production setting then Barco, and if it must be cheap, Blackmagic.
I’ve taken chances in the past with shit like Geffen, Kramer, Atlona, etc… and always gotten burned.

157These are for live events/streaming broadcasting. They are fine and reliable, but the user interface is just terrible. The Browser control is full featured, but it just doesn't work the way you want. Simple cropping and sizing layers is a total pain. I'd rather just use VMix rigs but the latency is too high for IMAG and a few other issues. We have a bunch of Black Magic ATEM camera switches and they all seem fine and for the price, really good.Geiginni wrote: Sun Aug 06, 2023 10:18 amI’ve managed to stay away from these guys a long time. 158Thanks for the clarification. The only work I've done with live events has been only as a facilities design consultant and specifier. Usually it's been either really high-end stuff (Barco E2 or S3, going back to the Folsom Research stuff), or bare bones, super economized or automated stuff (Blackmagic, or Epiphan type things). I assume the goal for IMAG is always subframe latency. The Blackmagic stuff I've specified seems nice, if not built for long-term bang up reliability. The Barco stuff is great, but outrageously expensive, like almost Vista Spyder videowall processor expensive.Kniferide wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 3:46 pmThese are for live events/streaming broadcasting. 159You guys are just making this shit up to fuck with us.
I want that EVH delay pedal, but not at that price.

Re: Gear you HATE
160I've used E2 a couple of times and we just decommissioned a Spyder. Out Video wall processor is a Tessera thing. Most of our main switchers are Analog Way. 3 Ascenders, about 14 Pulse 4K's and a shit ton of Pulse 2's all over the place. I just hate their Web control interface We also have 4 Vmix rigs, and various Roland and Black Magic switches scattered around. Also a ton of AMX, and some Extron here and there. It's all installed and doesn't move around so none of it gets too much physical abuse. I don't even like video gear. I just shout at it until it finally works. I rarely touch audio anymore, which is fine since Corporate Audio is boring as hell.Geiginni wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 7:58 pm Thanks for the clarification.
