You know, I had almost automatically posted 'The Last Laugh' along with 'Boxing The Clown' earlier, because they kind of are of the same period, and the CDs are both such a bitch to find...

Helios Creed - The Last Laugh:

and also here find at least one of the tracks off that Sub Pop single:

Helios Creed - "Nugg" The Transport:

Ehhhhxcellent! Thank you much. I had them both on Vinyl when they first came out in 1989, then I got 'The Last Laugh' on CD in 1995 and lost it again a few years later when somebody broke into my car and stole a carrying case full of CD's.

This software is from hell and who gives a shit?

google for "<name of the software you use to play mp3's> + flac plugin", im pretty sure there aflac plugins are available for everything (including cd burning software - you wont get any sound-quality loss when burning an audio cd from flac files) at this point.

"[P]artly an ethno-surrealist take on places and forms known (Indonesian gamelan, Bollywood soundtracks, Polynesian folk, surf stylistics, & sci-fi thematics) and partly a stupefying surreal ethnography of places yet to be discovered as the collective Bishop Brothers, Mssrs. Gocher and Kang walk that liminal tightrope between Here and There." — Locust Music catalog

"Kickin' the Dragon" was live recorded at the Off Ramp (now defunct) in Seattle. "Ghost Ghat Tresspass / Sussmeier" was recorded live at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, and features Eyvind Kang on violin. A portion of "Sussmeier" appears on Kang's Theater of Mineral NADE's CD (Tzadik, 1998). "Shin Paku" and "Maybe I'll Kiss and Die a Fool" were originally recorded during the sessions for Torch of the Mystic.

The songs "Apna Desh" and "Rookoo Bay" originally appeared in remixed form on the 78rpm 10-inch issued by Perfect in 1994.

This release also features the recording debut of Sun City Girl's Javanese Gamelan, acquired in 1993 at a Seattle auction.

Jared was Karp's bassist, for the record.

Chris played guitar.

I'm watchin' you, Webb!!

Ha!

Dammit, how'd I get that wrong? Did he play guitar in The Whip with Preston on bass then? I was sure he played guitar somewhere along the line before Big Business.

The Sound was a British post-punk band fronted by Adrian Borland, which evolved from his previous band, The Outsiders. Their career spanned 1978 to 1987. They were labelmates of fellow literate, intense post-punk groups such as Echo & the Bunnymen and The Chameleons. They shared stages with bands such as The Bunnymen, The Au Pairs, Comsat Angels, Felt, Medium Medium, U2, Public Image Ltd., U.K. Subs, Eyeless In Gaza, The Stranglers, China Crisis, Fiat Lux, The Cardiacs, Shriekback, Aztec Camera, and The Jazz Butcher.

Jeopardy is the first full length. It was actually the band's demo. Stark, simple and aggressive. Borland was surprised when the label (Korova) wanted to release the demo without re-recording it. It is fairly raw and immediate.

From The Lion's Mouth is the second album, produced in a proper studio by Hugh Jones. Easily the band's best, this album is criminally underrated. Dark, brooding, beautiful and aggressive post-punk.

All Fall Down is the third album. from Trouser Press: Pushed by their label to sound more commercial, All Fall Down is the defiant reply — a stark, barren landscape of harsh tones and dark passages. The black, clashing music makes the challenging LP an acquired taste, an ambitious, admirable exploration of the downside; not surprisingly, the record company sent the band packing.

While easily the most "dated" of the three albums, All Fall Down has some great songs on it.

Adrian Borland, who suffered from progressively severe mental illness, committed suicide on April 26, 1999.
