Introducing my co-worker to the myriad pleasures of the Mekons, I chose four records to initiate him:

Original Sin
The Mekons Rock n' Roll
So Good It Hurts
The Curse Of The Mekons

Nice pick, Redline! Man, I love that album.

To my confusion and consternation, I am listening to and enjoying The Magnet School.

I love that album
I bought it sealed in 1980 and opened it.

I'm dumping it on to a Maxell CD-R Music Pro cdr because everytime I play it, I think "I better put this on a cd...". After watching "You're Gonna Miss Me", I knew I had to pull this lp out.

The original lp kills any reissue. The best cd version sounds like there's a blanket over it.

Too bad the International Artists pressings are so bad.

The only time I get an itch to succumb to my nascent vinyl fetish is when I listen to a quality, underrated (relatively speaking) garage/early psychedelic band like 13th Floor Elevators, because I know the chances of their ever getting an adequate digital treatment are small.

PM me your address, I'll burn one for you.
There's only one short "tick" in Earthquake...It was pressed into the lp!

I just saw that Roky Erickson documentary "You're Gonna Miss Me" the other day.

It's great to see that early performance footage. His voice is so singularly amazing.

Seems like he's doing better these days but I won't be making it to that big festival to see him play.
