In the next couple of days, I'm going to put up Iannis Xenakis' "Music For Strings", and Penderecki's "Threnody For The Victims Of Hiroshima". If any of you want it, of course.

I love this thread. I've picked up so much new stuff, so many new threads to follow, thank all of you who have posted. I'm still amazed that Kraftwerk did the theme for "Newton's Apple" (unwillingly, apparently) and I had no idea it was them.

I just got a new turntable, so more things will be coming from me. Until then...

Spalding Gray's "Terrors of Pleasure" monologue. I saw a video version of this on HBO back in the 80's, it was my first exposure to him. Since then I've tracked down pretty much all the CDs and movies, so if anybody is interested, just ask.

Financially, a heavy heroin addiction would be less expensive for me than this Japanese music addiction I have going on.

I would be ever so grateful if you could possibly post the above masterpieces, burun. =)

Can you translate the first song on the YAMASUKI album by any chance? I swear, my stomach hurts after listening to it at high volumes.

想い出波止場.

Or, Omoide Hatoba.

First, Mantako. I first heard this record in my pal Nuuj's car, while we were driving to Chicago, September 2nd 1994. My life would change drastically in the next few days. It was late at night. Nuuj was driving, and he had the look of a man who had been driving for 6 hours straight, because he had.

From the opening careen of "Cream Beam" to the echoed swagger of "Come On! Me!" this record was the perfect soundtrack to our own personal Raoul Duke/Oscar Zeta Acosta roadtrip.

Now I give it to you.

This was the gateway to the wonderfulness of Omoide Hatoba, and its associated projects like Zubi Zuva X, Audio Sports, and about a zillion others.

Kinsei was the next record I got, with Black Hawaii soon to follow.

If I have time, I'll post some Pugs records too. Now those guys are insanity.
