So . . . you just let centipedes hang around your house??

Okay.

Anyway . . . Yesterday I identified a malfunctioning tweeter as what was causing some minor but non-negligible issues with stereo playback involving those new floorstanding speakers I got. It was almost driving me nuts because the noises would only arise when playing certain songs on certain releases. At first I thought maybe the problem was weird reflections, the result of sub-optimal acoustics, or maybe that the speakers needed breaking in (they are new). But, no! It was the left speaker's tweeter. And so I'm looking forward to receiving the replacement this week.

Felt shit all day. Really down. Had a show to play tonight with my newish band, and I did not want to do it. Did not want to play live anymore. I was down.
We went on at 1am. But, you know what? People stayed and I drummed my ass off. And then I felt good. Real good.

Man I'm so sensitive to sounds. Had to get a new mouse and this one has very loud buttons. Snap snap snap all the time I can't take it.

Applied for a systems admin job at a large microphone company.

Would mean that I would have to relocate, but I'd be good with that.

Also considering the world's latest life career swerve, into immigration law. Tired of watching people get fucked over by the worst people in the world. There's a really good law school with an immigration law clinic attached 48 minutes from my house.

Let me reiterate something: I'm tired of watching people get fucked by the worst people in the world WITH THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE GOVERNMENT BEHIND THEM.

Spoke to a comrade who practices immigration law today about the whole thing. She said "Look, I handle asylum cases, refugees, people caught between the anvil and the hammer. There's not much money in it, but I can afford to live, eat, and drive. If you're trying to get rich, this ain't the way. If you think Sisyphus was happy, schedule a time to take the LSAT."

I said "It's not about the money. I've been playing drums in rock bands since I was 17."

First, you are rad.

Second, "If you think Sisyphus was happy, do _________" are words to live by.

Greetings from Warszawa.

There are more than a few billboards around here that shorten the city name to “Wars”.

In a sad way, it seems appropriate.

Only have about 72 hours here.. trying to see what I can. Probably will not do justice to the city.

Okay.
Oh yes, we do. The centipedes are harmless and mainly stick to the basement areas. They can get to be pretty large too. Given the sheer number of spiders around our house and in Oregon in general, having the centipedes around to keep them in check is a godsend.

Once you get over the initial 'ick' factor, centipedes are really cool critters. The dog and cat leave them alone too. I'm guessing they don't smell too good, as a reason.

I'm rad? Aren't you the dude launching a perfumerie in his living room??

Turns out that the local law school (which is super prestigious) isn't like a zillion dollars to attend, since it's a state school.

Well, nothing to do but to plunge in.
