Yeah, the downward spiral seems to be accelerating. One of my Spurs heroes of course, although he's a tough man to love, particularly taking that flute-playing bullshit in Scotland into account. The domestic violence is hard to sweep under the rug as well.

Incidentally, my prediction for Sunday:

Spurs 2 Chelsea 2 after full time. Robbie Keane fires in the winner in the second period of extra time.

Eduardo of Arsenal suffered a broken leg in a tackle from Martin Taylor of Birmingham; apparently it was so gruesome that Sky, who were covering the game live, declined to show replays of the incident. Ouch. Birmingham then snatched a 2-2 draw with an injury time penalty. Ouch!

Ah, but I see that johnb is not so shy with the replays.

What those highlights don't show is the fact that as soon as Waddle missed his penalty, Lothar Matthaus went straight over to him and spent a good few seconds consoling him as his team-mates went mental. I've got a variation of this photo pinned up in my bedroom.

Something I don't remember about that match is that perfectly good David Platt goal that was ruled out for offside.

I feel so sorry for Eduardo and Taylor.

More for Eduardo, who was finally getting a chance to shine with the injury of Van Persie but also for Taylor, who obviously had no intention of deliberately breaking another player's leg. Terrible for everyone concerned I guess.

Once again, I pick someone who scores a hat-trick as my captain. (I changed it from Gerrard to Torres last night, after having changed it from Berbatov to Gerrard knowing that Berbatov wouldn't be playing this week.)

But does it matter?

Not a fucking whit. All three teams above me in the table have Ronaldo as their captain.
