(You may know this already, but...) The singer from Juno has started up a new band/collaboration thingy that sounds promising if it ever gets off the ground, and it's called Ghost Wars. Songs here --> http://www.myspace.com/ghostwarsmusic

Also, Juno is playing a pair of reunion shows on December 9th and 10th in Seattle. I'd like to think that they'll get back together, but something tells me that probably won't happen.

No, tbone, I didn't know that. Thank you much!

here's the Pork article on it:

I will be at the Sunday show. This is pretty exciting, especially since I had put on what became their last show in June of 2003, in a bowling alley basement with the Beauty Pill. They were really great that night.

Peach Pit

They are/were [?] a Croatian band, a sort of post-rock June of 44 meets Mogwai type of thing; at least one of them used to post here on EA; saw them play in Zagreb a couple of times 1999-2000, one of which was opening for Trans Am (who were embarrassingly bad), the other occasion was at the old Mocvara. Interesting band.

From what I've read, after their last album came out, IRS folded. This was only a few years after Baited Breath had folded after they released "Meridian". The series of poor sales, dying labels, and all the usual things that make bands worn out, did them in. However, they've done some reunion shows here and there. They also just put out a CD of covers called "What's Left for Kicks?" on Pitch-A-Tent/Magnetic Motorworks http://www.pitchatent.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=01&Product_Code=cd15&Category_Code=MMW. Not sure how new/old all the material is, as I just read about this last night in the new Tape Op, but one of the covers (of Soft Machine's "Moon in June" w/John Wesley Harding on vocals) is on the back of some old 7" I have.

I saw them twice, and they were great both times. They also got me into the 18+ show when I was 16 first time I saw them. Very nice. Victor Krummenacher is a vastly underrated bassist, if I may say so.

Yeah, Pond. What great, melancholy albums they put out. Apparently, the singer/guitarist Charlie Campbell grew tired of it all. Quit and put out an album as "Goldcard". Now does music for tv/movies. The bassist is in Audio Learning Center.

What a drummer they had. I read many years ago about the bands they splintered into, but never heard anything from those bands, and have now forgotten what the names were. Anyone know?

I'd also add:
The Raymond Brake - that first album has its moments

Carbomb - i know they split into a bunch of bands, and the label was supposed to release a compilation CD of their EPs, but i never saw it. the label is now gone, along with info about all these projects.

Freedom Fighters

and, I reiterate: Freedom Fighters

boogie rock with the bendy guitars.

Ash recorded it if I'm not of mistakes.

ash produced and sat in on the 3 songs recorded at track and field...they all are up to good things!

Nailbomb was Fudge Tunnel plus Napalm Death for a one-shot deal, no?
Modest Mouse is currently the home of Johnny Marr, no?

yes, too bad that it was only for one cd and a gig...and i fucking missed that nailbomb gig at the dynamo in 94 cause we got stuck in maastricht...wonder why*?*added to fudge tunnel and napalm death would be some weird ex-sepultura singer...

and modest mouse...last thing i heard (read!!!) about them was an interview in the visions magazin about 3-4 years ago...after that it was pretty quiet about this band. are they still together?

Ryan of most secret method did a long tour of duty in the lovely Beauty Pill, and is currently doing his own thing in the two piece, Soccer Team.

thanks for the info...
