Chris Thomson. He also sang for Monorchid and Skull Kontrol. They are playing with Ladyfinger in Chicago I believe on the 25th of August - y'all should go.

Very nice. Thank you for the information.

My girlfriend grew up in D.C....she was a big Circus Lupus fan. She thought that Chris Thomson was hot (she wasn't terribly impressed with too many bands in D.C. [apparently]). So crazy...and desperate ("desperate" in an artistic way). I can't believe I got to see this guy now...little did I know he was in two spectacular groups previous to Red Eyed Legends. Had I known this in June, I would have paid more attention. I did enjoy their set.

Thanks!

I'll make sure to bring a lot of people to the Corral Room (no Green Shirt Daves, I assure you). You're gonna love that venue...I played there once when this guy Pete was still in charge. Another time, I was going to play there over the T&G weekend, but everyone went to Chicago! (surprise, surprise). It's like your sleazy grandpa's basement. I'll bet it ends up being your favorite night of the mini-tour for a multitude of reasons.

The important thing to remember: you'll be playing below a restaurant of fucking bitchy people...you have to be completely quiet until 10:30 PM or later (it is a very strange venue). I can't speak for Roger, but I'll be there early to help you silently unload. Park in the alley by the entrance. I wonder if I can get my lady to fly out for this bill...

In any case, I'm jacked. Again.

I'm going to Submarine Express for a sandwich. Talk to you later.

You've obviously never been to the Circle A. I already won this bet.

We'll see which show Roger attends. If he attends Circle A instead of the Corral Room, I owe you a drink. A good deal, no? But if I win...I will jack you in the right kidney when you least expect it. Be forewarned!

No, I have not been to the Circle A...but I can't imagine that the Reverse is better than Houndrunner.

Yale, please check my original post. Pete does NOT run the Corral Room any longer...you have to rent it (like a bitch). That does not take away from the fact that the venue itself is really cool.

To put in your tampon so you don't bloody the sheets?

This reminded me of this...Jesse's (of Houndrunner) other Madison band has had this on their MySpace page for as long as I can remember:

THUMBS DOWN: bands overall being assholes about when they are playing. this has been happening TOO MUCH lately. seriously, does it really matter THAT much when you play? you are a local band. deal with it. if you have to work early the next day, DON'T BOOK A SHOW THE NIGHT BEFORE. umm drr. (and for the record, i work 2 jobs and usually have to work at 9 am 5 days a week yet still manage to be at most shows till at least 12 or 1 and a lot of the time till bar time) if there is out of town bands, or a headlining band, they are most likely going to play first. or when they want. since these bands that have been giving me problems are not EITHER, basically, suck it. OH and btw, what my boss says goes. period. do not EVER tell me what you will and will not do in at the club i book for. i am not generally bitchy, but all this drama is non sensical and silly. and i'm tired of it. i do NOT get to decide about who gets what at the door. i do NOT get to decide about guarantees. etc etc. I do booking and promotions and that's IT. i do what i can, so stop giving me shit. since i am sick of dealing with this bullshit, from here on out, bands who are going to be difficult can talk to my boss. ~ kat ~

Nice edit.

Hey Rog, are you the Ebert & Roeper of venue reviews?

Anyway, if a band I liked was playing in my hometown, and also in a town an hour away from my hometown, and I was free to go to either show but only attended one, I wager I would spend what I saved in gas money on drinks for myself by going to the show in my neighborhood. Hence, your bet is hedged more out of convenience than actual venue novelty.

I own Circle A apparel. I am right. Ask Kerble.
