It's not a very thick/dense foam. You should be able to see through it.

By the way, is there any difference between 30 and 60 pores?Update: The correct PPI is 60. 30 is very porous and not what was used originally by Beyer (I compared the two foams to the foam in mine).

I somehwat exhausted this topic in my personal world and I'm thinking about giving away my M380 capsules. I got a small number perfectly working, a few quite good but with some overtones and a few working but with more overtones - the last ones I'll give away for postage. I will be traveling next week but will be back later and go into details. This gives the folks here a few days to write me a PM if they are interested.

I found two more M380-compatible capsules in my workshop - they sound okay on a quick listen but i will take them to the studio next week and check them with loud and low sine tones if there's dirt/hair in the magnet gap or on the membrane. If not, they will make fine spare parts for your M380 ... or (in an empty AKG D12 housing for example) make a nice frankenstein mic.

Hey Frans, are those capsules still available? I've picked this up again here after trying various things over the last couple of years to fix a M380TG
