Yeah, 'cause all y'all's moms are hocking it up!

No, because of the ever-present maple-colored Santorum glaze on your Mangina.

In the bible??? Show me. Show me any use of it, for that matter, aside from hip-hop. I still don't comprehend what it might mean. The word of God is born? Born when? Given birth by scripture? I'm not understanding.

Here under "Themes"

how the Word continues to be the impulse that creates in Earth, and the amazing truth that the Word is born of flesh and blood on Earth. Earth is where God is born, made of the stuff of Earth, a message reflected in the Affirmation of Faith.

...and Here. Halfway down the page, a whole CD of Christmas hymns entitled "The Word is Born".

That's just a quick search, but those are two non-hip-hop examples. I'm not saying that this proves that this theory is correct, but I am just providing it to you as an example of how it is used in the religious/gospel context.

Wow, sleepkid. Thanks for making the effort.
I wonder if the hip-hop community is throwing the term around in this context, tho. Interesting stuff, this language of ours. Thanks, sleepkid.
Your investigative effort was truly 'bout it 'bout it.

"Bone of Discontent" came out of someone's mouth at work the other day... which immediately struck me as a malapropism of "Bone of Contention"... or could both be equally correct...? Hmmm, now I'm confused.

(Either phrase, it must be said, could make for a pretty sweet porno title...)
