Would it maybe be better just to find another body entirely rather than refin yours? Also, depending on your tastes, the overspray-then-relic look can, IMO, look nice. Just seems to me like stripping down a Strat body creates a lot of work and mess for what s basically a $150 commodity item.

Chris, go refurbished and get a business Thinkpad. You can even get the CAD workstation ones that can handle anything a DAW could throw at them in your price range.

Hey folks- I've had some limited success recording in my garage w/ Reaper and a 4 input interface. there is a 75% chance I'll have a significant recording project to work on this summer and my elderly laptop is slowing and becoming less reliable. In the sub $800 range, what is a good, stable, reliable laptop (my last lenovo cost $250, and has been a champ)? I really only need it to do occasional recording, some video and photo editing from time to time- nothing heavy duty.

Yep, T, P, or W series is your best bet.

Yes- this is a basic duck call- specifically a single reed mallard type call. Cabela's or gander mountain or any sporting goods store should have one for well under $25.

I don't suppose anyone knows where a I could find a similar duck call to the one Genesis uses for Hamburger Lady?Hard to see in the video. I assume it must be something basic, as they first used it 40 years ago.

I failed to consider how difficult it might be to actually recreate that sound. So far, I have succeeded in quacks, farts, and squeals, but nothing approaching the Hamburger Lady sound. Still going to be useful for sample material, but my TG cover will probably use a modular sample.

FM tallchris, FX doctor rehouses those. You could ask if they would be able to add an expression pedal input. For some reason they remove the dry output when they rehouse, so if you use that, you'd also want to ask if they can preserve it for you.The TC alter ego in 2290 mode is a pretty great digital delay, but I don't know if it would replace the DE7.The Red Witch Violetta looks excellent and is cheap.

Is the Line 6 DL-4 no longer desirable? I think it does everything you ask and they're pretty cheap these days. I still have one on my pedal board despite having more than a few nice delays of various vintages that each do their own nifty things. Expression pedal is the outlier for most of them.
