The perfect post-ending.
Best of thoughts.

So tests, tests, tests.
No bone damage. Standard genetic risk profile, stable and improved kidney function.
As positive as I can hope for so far.
This will still kill me one day, but universe willing a long time from now.
Treatment starts in two weeks. Four months of low intensity therapy while they farm my Stem Cells. Then they’re going to hit me with a sledgehammer, destroying my immune system then rebuild it with my own Stems.
Then it’s hopefully years of maintenance.
I’m currently trying to build up my mental health robustness with reading about trauma coping and diving hard back into my meditation practice.
I think I better write and record an album as well… because the world needs more instrumental post-rock
Man, you are in my thoughts, this is precisely what my (now) 73 year old Father in Law started about 6 years ago. He's currently no evidence of disease. And doing amazing, all things considered.
That’s fantastic news. Especially at that age. Is it Myeloma? If so he must have been fit because it’s really heavy treatment that often doesn’t get offered to people at the old end of the spectrum.
Much love.

It is. He's kept himself in fairly good shape all his life. the last year he has started putting weight back on, which is so nice to see.

Great to hear stuff like this. Thanks for sharing.

Today I had my second PSA test since my surgery. Again, it’s below the limits of detection, which is what we want.
As it’s now Movember, I’m gonna take a moment here and gently say, men: get your tests done!

Great news man. Yep. Regular health checks, with blood work has saved me from a much worse prognosis. It’s still fucked, but I could have just suddenly died of kidney failure around Christmas…

Sorry for bombarding this thread but it’s my only non immediate family vent.
Full genetic and PET testing results in.
Lowest risk type, no bone damage, minimal plasma mutation… to the point where the clinical team debated whether I need immediate treatment or not. They are going to start straight away but it will be incremental and tailored to my low incidence of disease.
It’s still bad news, but as positive as it’s possible within that framework.
Fuck. I feel like I can breathe again

Thanks, Gramsci.
It was around this time last year I had my diagnosis, so having a good test now feels a bit like things have come full circle.
Again, best to you and other folks here who are dealing with treatment themselves or with their loved ones. I don’t always have advice, or any shared experiences to relate, but I do read this topic regularly and acknowledge what you all are going through. Life certainly throws us some shit.

Thanks. It’s a big relief. It’s still something no one wants but that it’s non aggressive and hasn’t taken hold is a big deal.
I imagine you’re feeling pretty great to have flat PSA levels. I had a prostate scare about three years ago which turned out to be BPH, so went through months of PSA, MRI and other… more intrusive tests. If you can treat yourself, days of relief and hope in the cancer dumpster fire deserve celebration.
