Haha - they offered that I could return them on my time, or I could keep them and pay the difference because they are completely out.
It's not a lot of money, but still. It's not my mistake. I shouldn't do leg work to correct it.
Whatever. I'll probably just pay them the extra dough and not bother with the headache.
I'd like to point out, the only reason they know is because I mentioned it. Asking for more money at that point is pretty poor form.
Yeah, don't pay them anything. Just keep them. Their mistake isn't yours to correct.

I just received two ribbons for the trouble and a refund on the one I’d ordered before the $20 price drop.
I think the one I owned before is broken, but that might be related to an issue I had with channel 2 of a preamp I had been using. Haven’t messed with it since the pre was swapped out

I notice their LTM500 tube mics are there as well, for $169 (they are $199 on the monoprice website).

Made a thing. Single moniprice ribbon over drums with a homemade sub kick. Bass... a little synth thing. Also ran the bass and overhead through my mxr bass comp [like a little 1176!] That pedal rules.

Not sure if this highnote link works or not actually.

it works for me on laptop, just had to click the play button on the bottom of the frame
Drums sound purty good, fits the vibe of the song actually. I think you can hear in the cymbals how it's got a lot more high-end presence than I would normally expect from a ribbon. Not sure if it's good or bad, just a thing. To me it sounds fairly natural? doesn't sound like a cranked hi-shelf or anything - idk, someone w/ better ears/listening environment might pick it apart more.
fun little track!

I got my 2 monoprice 3 pattern Condenser mics today. I did a little A/B against a Warm Audio Fet 47Jr and it sounds almost exactly the same. maybe a little less low mids, has a slightly more sensitive proximity, and a very slightly lower output, but they were $27. And the Warm is like 2 bills or something. there is nothing special about these mics, but if I was a kid with no budget and wanted mics to play with they are no brainers. I would have loved to have these 25 years ago.

Yeah, I wound up wiring up the 2 condensers they sent me on accident and they sound as good or better than anything else I've got. They pick up treble from my amps that are on "make the neighbors mad" volume better than the others I've been fussing with, and they don't blow out at those volumes the same that others have been.
Pretty nice little $25 bargain.
I might go ahead and order a couple of the ribbons off of amazon and just wait out the back order at this point. I'm pretty happy overall.
