Throughout most of my adulthood, I’ve always felt about ten years younger than my actual age. Not so, lately. Definitely feeling like I’m in my 50’s. Body aches, tired all the time, and a general sense of feeling out-of-touch with things. I hope this is a passing phase. Low testosterone is a likely culprit.

Flew out to Mississippi to go pick up a GMC Sierra. It’s been 20 years since I last had a truck, and it feels good to have one again. Mainly keeping it around for hauling stuff and I’ll use the Elantra for getting around town.

My gf and I have been renovating a house for the last year and a half. I’m so tired of the process and I doubt I’ll ever do it again. It’s supposed to be ready on the 18th. There will be a nice guest room for any of my PRF peeps to enjoy.

A bigger project has been going well and I plan to keep working on it all through the holidays, in between festivities, obligations, bike rides, etc.

It seems that in 2023 it's all too easy for me to default into Cynical Crank Mode, so anything that offers a more artful reprieve from that is worth it. I find that the work itself is often not exciting, but partaking in it after the fact feels like some combination of stimulating and relaxing. Something about it puts my psyche on the right wavelength. And I'd like to think this would extend to others . . . or at least some others.

A novel I've been working on for over two years now, my second. Haven't got a publisher or anything--no advance, etc. But it's coming along.

I need to get back to it, but will let everyone know when it's done and released in some form. If it turns out.

Cheers!

I noticed yesterday that I have stage fright even in front of myself when playing an instrument. Worrying about if someone else can hear me and whatnot. Once I catched that thought things got much easier.

Practicing Donkey Kong Country's "Aquatic Ambience" today. Much easier than it sounds.

My would-be new employer is now over thirty minutes late for the second interview which they scheduled. I think this is what the kids call "telling on oneself."

Over 90 minutes later with an apology because dude is retiring tomorrow and has retirement-brain, I guess.
