Kicking Television is an amazing rock and roll record.

Each member of this band is a remarkable musician, particularly Cline and Kotche, and I simply cannot ever tire of listening to them play together.

Nope. As yet, I have never given anyone reason to give me shit for listening to Wilco. My dislike of Uncle Tupelo and the unengaging Wilco performance I saw on TV once probably ensures that I most likely never will either.

my dad's various cover bands. i listen to them on cd. in fact right now i'm watching a VHS of it. and i've made friends listen to whole CD-Rs, then they never come over again.

"Holiday Road" by Lindsay Buckingham from the National Lampoon's Vacation Soundtrack. I still think that has the best chorus I have ever heard. A perfect 2.5 Minutes.

The one I always got shit for (from my siblings) was Captain Beefheart - there was a time that whenever I questioned their taste in something, they'd shoot back with, "Who cares? You like Captain Beefheart!" Somehow my protestings that Beefheart was a fucking genius never seemed to sink in.

On the other hand, my favorite moment of musical vindication came recently when I was on a trip with my dad alone and he asked me to put on some recent '90's music, so I popped in Goat...and he dug it, although he did say that he thought David Yow couldn't really sing. Liked the attitude and the guitar on "Nub." I was shocked...

Anyone that gives shit for liking the captain is officially not allowed to have an opinion on anything. Don't listen to a word they say, it's all lies.
