Right now mine is (and has been for a while) an old Ducati logo.

i was recently informed that i was not emo enough for my "diary" avatar...so now i have a pic of mr. artaud. i think we have more in common, anyway...minus the genius part, that is.

i have one book of his essays. i liked it quite a bit when I was reading it. I recall one piece best, "I hate and renounce as a coward..." good stuff, good avatar. but tell chicks it's James Dean, man.

my avatar is from the cover of Barbara Loden's Wanda, which recently came out on DVD. it's an excellent independent feature that was shot in america in 1970. it was Loden's sole film as a director -- she was the wife of Elia Kazan and an actress in several other movies. Wanda is a portrait of an apathetic woman endowed with very little ambition. the liberal climate at the time had much to do with its poor reception, seeing as how most feminists favored the woman-as-perennial-victim approach to character studies.

i had this avatar and then awhile later someone decided to make a "you as your avatar" week and i didn't have to change mine. also, i didn't change it when that week was over. i think i'm gonna go back to being bootsy.
