As for staying under $500.00...

Back in this board's "MKI..." days?

Seems like at least a couple of folks had good things to say about the Allen & Heath "ZED..." series mixers. Not sure how much of that survived the relaunch, but it seems like they go for less than five hundred used. Seems like they tend to have the amount of "AUX..." outs that you were interested in.

I've been using a 24 Ch A&H Gl2200 for years as a front end for my DAW and it has been great. Preamps are boring, but totally fine. Really clean signal from the Direct Outs which on mine will be even cleaner now that I've started the pre-fader DI Out mod. Group Buss is a little noisy, but not too bad. Usable EQ. Bunch of Aux sends I use for headphone sends and Spring Reverb. I see them on CL for under $500 regularly. Actually looking for a second as a parts board as this guy is from 1998. For being lower end live sound consoles, they are really well built and reliable.

WAY better build quality. Much more quiet and reliable. I am a fan of their Digital stuff too. QU series are cheap and really easy to use. They sound pretty good. SQ are good mid sized boards. I've spent a ton of time on DLive boards and hove few complaints. We are replacing our Soundcraft Vi6 at work with an Avantis soon and it looks fun.

I think I am going to recap my Allen Heath GL2200 console and my Tascam 320b consoles. Exactly what brand/grade of electrolytic should I order? I've bought regular old blue Panasonics for pedal building and shit in the past but I figure with a job of this size I only want to do it once and get something good. Also, favorite solder suckers? I have some manual syringe suckers and a powered vacuum thing that doesn't get quite hot enough to be super time consuming. Its about 20 caps per channel and I want to be efficient because I hope to get it done over a weekend.

I use Panasonic FC series electrolytic caps in my builds. googling „best electrolytic caps for audio“ will bring up endless discussions, but I doubt that my 55 year old ears would hear a difference between different caps.
I’ve been using a Duratool D01699 desoldering pump for years and it still works perfectly fine. it will very much depend on wether the caps are just soldered to the bottom of the board or soldered "through hole“. I often cut one leg of parts as it gets easier to pull them out this way.
good luck!
