FWIW, and veering off-topic, I also grabbed a pair of their SDCs with separate omni capsules that are now on the way, $62 for the pair; I have plenty of probably-better sdcs but what the hell, why not try em out.

That is a good price for the tube condenser. I just start to wonder if I wouldn’t be better suited to putting $120 into repairing broken gear or something. $20 is easy to swing but $120? I don’t know

I have a n old PPA LD2UBE mic from the early 2000's and it looks a lot like that monoprice. It is so harsh in the high end that I think I've only used it twice in over 10 years so im not taking the monoprice bait on this one. The little 3 pattern solid state LDC sounds ok so far though.
