I haven't heard the new record, although I do not care for its singles. But I also wasn't exactly expecting a modernization of the T&G-era Lizard sound. That seems unrealistic at this point. And very few bands not called Swans can pull off the revival thing gracefully, never mind stunningly.

Anyway, it would have been self-deprecatingly hilarious if the Jesus Lizard had titled this album Suck or Weak or Cash or Dads or something to that effect. Missed opportunity there.

he absolutely is not.
Yes you are.

Well Conan was here, are you he?

lol

It would be funny if Mr. Sims was lurking in this thread and scowling at his monitor.

Too old for mere DADS, but POPS would have been a great choice, for multiple reasons.

Meanwhile, I'm listening to Rack right now. It doesn't sound like rockabilly. It doesn't sound like Offspring or whatever that nitwit said.
For everybody here who was talking shit about it before it was even released, this really does fall in line with the Goat-Liar-Down era sounds. Y'all might like it.

I'm liking it more than I expected to after giving it a few listens. Very Shot era sounding to me although there are outliers here and there. Excited to see them this month.

same here. I’m 7 songs in and I like it about 500 times more than expected. It’s definitely similar to Shot but probably more focused. I listened to Vish’s interviews which pointed out that most of this stuff came from Duane and it shows, it really is a showcase for his incredible guitar work.

I listened this morning but got interrupted. Better than I expected. I liked what I heard.

I wonder if Alexis is about dude from Daughters that ripped off Yow for You won't get what you want. Kinda hope so, but doubt it.

I believe in Duane's interview with Conan, it's mentioned that the Alexis in question is the drummer from GvsB.
