Yes, subtle genius on there, hell of a range. Made me realise I really took this kind of music (specifically the Echtzeit scene) too much for granted for a long time. Glad you like it!horse_laminator wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 5:48 pmThat's pretty great. The last thing I listened to with Beins was his collaboration with Nuemann on the 2002 album Lidingö on Erstwhile.
Re: Those 2024 albums worth a damn.
172It definitely comes under the One Long Song category but as a “piece” it really works…. And not one high pitched squeal. Honestly that habit of Smith’s has destroyed albums for me.tallchris wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 6:00 pmIt's really good. Like not just "the best since Disintegration" good maybe even as good as their best records. 8 songs, 50 minutes, they haven't made a record with this little fat or filler since Pornography or Head On The Door.Gramsci wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:46 am I never thought I’d ever say this again but the new the Cure album is pretty great. Sonically solid, lyrically mature misery and not one of those high pitched squeals.

175Daisy Rickman's other album from 2022, Donsya a'n Loryow, is also great and worth your time.

180That's My Floor has that "haven't I heard this before somewhere" feeling. I mean I *might* have heard it earlier this year but like, long ago. Anyhow it had the groove. The song that comes after is very nice too. "Image" is growing on me.
