My good dudes, can I ask one pragmatical question? Why is Trump not in prison? He is a convicted felon, right? And this person is a RNC nominee?

If you're asking me, your (our) fight is already lost. It really doesn't matter who gets elected, maybe the reset goes quicker through Trump. If not Trump, now you have a 40yo poster boy for white inferiority complex masked as a mainstream Republican voter that is somewhere in between the hillbilly Trumper and a sure Biden vote. Oh, and his wife is Indian. You just know they be all hypocrites when they see a chance to grab a smidge of power.

I really thought that we have it too good for another WW, but I scare easily that I will see another WW in my or my daughters lifetime.

If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you. - LBJ
WOW, LeBron really said that!? Maybe he should run for office!

Oh, and one side note on all of this. Really appreciating Obama staying on the bench fro this one, it really oozes "correctness of political decorum" on his part. I would call him extremely patriotic for respecting the fair battle that is US Elections 2024.

I see his lack of jail and poll positioning explained in a few factors:

1. The U.S. justice system is devastatingly classist where people with enough resources can slither out of many things.
2. Many of the finer details about presidential conduct and the transfer of power were actually norms and traditions not explicit law.
3. Trump stacked the Supreme Court.
4. The American right's persecution complex coupled with absurd postmodernism allows a complete suspension of values and logical consistency when given the right champion.

My good dude, I am aware of all the before mentioned, points 1 to 4.

Have you ever googled Boris Becker plus jail!? Try it!

I'll second LeBron running. While I don't know why he'd bother with that, he could be the Anti-Vance; a guy who really did come from humble beginnings to be the (actual) best.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

Excuse my pedantic streak.

I know nothing of tennis so that guy's new to me, but you're spot on. Rich man guilty of white collar crime seems to fair so much better than poor man guilty of theft.

Ah, Lyndon Baines Johnson. An incredibly flawed and sometimes disgusting human who did some awful and great things for the world, then started smoking pot and re-thought it all. Interesting no matter your bend.

You can't go 12 miles in Texas without seeing his initials somewhere. Streets, highways, libraries....

Also the democrat who dropped out from the race and got Nixon elected. An analogue for today somewhat.

Oh sure, but that dude still ended up in actual prison in Germany. Like actual jail time behind bars.
