noise&light wrote:This might more sense in the "Recommend a..." thread. But since it's specifically comix related, I'm thinking that someone reading this thread might know best.I often buy graphic novels at $14 a pop, or so. Is there a good place to sell them or trade them? Most comic shops make it clear that they just want vintage comics. I'm happy to let stuff go for cheap. There are just few things that I want to keep with me forever.Let me know if anything comes to mind. Thanks!I've bought trades(heck, all the trades that make up a run) on E-bay a few times. If you aren't really trying to get eighty percent of the retail price back, it might be a workable option.

So Bernardo, did you end up getting the Jim book in the end?Fran is great, and makes Congress Of The Animals so much more. The two books together form a narrative loop, and Jim advises that if you find the ending too much of a downer, you can try reading them in reverse order instead. But nothing is better than the early work collected in Jim. Raw and terrifying.Salut, Fantagraphic books! You are the best. Also, everything goatlord has recommended in this entire thread is excellent.

Put 'em on your Christmas list. If you got Congress you gotta get Fran to go with. The Book Of Jim has half of what's in Jim I think? But the new one is definitive and... oh man. What a thing it is.

I also think they deserve to take the time and figure out how to finish this, the last few arcs did at times feel a aimless and drawn out.

As for "You Like"...A while back DC Comics tasked Warren Ellis with a "Reboot" of the old "Wildstorm" corner of Image Comics that became DC IP when Jim Lee came into the fold. There is no way I can say clearly enough how brilliant this effort has been. If you are aware of Stormwatch being a team that operated out of a space station called Skywatch and WildC.A.T.s being a title about a super team funded by a really old alien, it is a reworking of that. The new lay of the land is the Skywatch and I.O.(which a member of WildC.A.T.s had been a part of) have split up "Behind The Scenes" rule of Earth and space. Skywatch obviously having dominion over space, and I.O. controlling Earth.Things in that status quo go sideways in the first issue. Since then, the comic has been nothing short of brilliant.
