Started watching Barry. It's really great. Bill Hader plays a hitman who ends up in LA for work and stumbles into an acting class, which starts to give his life some meaning. They really nailed the dark humour in it and Stephen Root is perfect as his wheedling handler.

Just finished La casa de papel/Money Heist (or apparently I haven't, as a new season has recently been announced). It's a bank heist drama set in Spain with elements of Sherlock Holmes, Baudrillard, and I guess a capitalist vision of socialism (meaning, it's the wrong kind of aspirational - uses the robin hood trope to promote the billionaire in paradise vision). But I enjoyed it. Probably more for the characters than anything else. It has some of the actors from Elite, if you've watched that. Not sure how common this is with English speaking originals, but many of the Spanish speaking Netflix originals seem to share actors.

Yeah Hulu has been kicking Netflix's ass lately, maybe I'll cancel it as well. Pen15 is super good and uncomfortable to watch at times. Unwound song in the first episode!

Nothing has been playing well on Netflix for me lately except the trailers that start if you hover on a title for more than half a second. I've been having glitches and audio drops in everything I actually want to watch, and I hate those fucking previews, so I'm probably going to cancel it.On hulu, I've been catching up with Fargo and Atlanta.

Criterion Channel just added films by Apichatpong Weerasethakul - I will readily admit that I had to copy-paste that - and they're pretty fantastic.

Even by Black Mirror standards? Might be worth a morbid watch if so.

God, that Miley Cyrus episode of Black Mirror was awful. Just awful.
