Nine was my favorite episode so far and the whole thing has been very solid, to me anyway.enframed wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 9:34 amIt's OK. Started out strong but kinda boring me now by episode nine. I'll keep going.kmc wrote: Sun Dec 19, 2021 9:22 amI haven't read the book but I have heard that the series strays quite a bit from the book.A_Man_Who_Tries wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 10:38 am
That's interesting. The book was terrible (if well-received). Curious to know how much surgery they might have done to pull a decent show from it.

182Fried Barry was kinda AWESOME. I'll back you up on this one, though I didn't see it as a Joe Bob episode. My credibility is dogshit though.Verge of Light wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 1:29 pmWhen I read this aloud I dropped my pipe on my favorite corduroy sport jacket!Anonymous37 wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:59 pm Let's face it, you're not Verge of Light; you don't have highbrow tastes in cinema.
(I did kinda enjoy Fried Barry with the whole Joe Bob presentation - watch at your own risk. It's on AMC+ / Shudder.)

183Late to the party as usual. I'm a few episodes into What We Do In The Shadows.
I quite like it.

184Same here. Good mix of mundane vampire life and the occasional flash of special effects. "BAT!".ErikG wrote: Fri Jan 14, 2022 5:27 am Late to the party as usual. I'm a few episodes into What We Do In The Shadows.

185It just gets better and better. My vote for funniest current series. Matt Berry’s best role ever?losthighway wrote: Fri Jan 14, 2022 5:18 pmSame here. 186Is there a way to get South Side without subscribing to HBO?
Re: Streaming Netflix/Hulu/etc. - what's good lately?
187I got a temporary Showtime subscription so I could binge this. Great series that hits on a lot of classic stuff (to varying degrees: Alive, Lord of the Flies, Shining, Exorcist, Misery) but doesn't itself seem contrived about it. Great cast and the twin timeline thing works really well too. Season finale tomorrow! Who is the Antler Queen??tallchris wrote: Sun Jan 02, 2022 2:44 pm YELLOWJACKETS, only 4 episodes in, but damn really great. Melanie Lynskey is amazing, glad to see her get a real starring role in a series after playing the dowdy midwestern wife to so many Hollywood dudes in films for the last decade+.
