BBGS 2047 are a 7 piece rock band from Chicago, founded in 2005. The entire year of 2006 was lost to circumstances beyond their control, as its members spread out across the globe. In Jan. 2007 BBGS reformed in Chicago and quickly started working on new material. A new self recorded BBGS EP is close to being finished, and the band has started playing live shows across the city in celebration.


Here's a review recently wrote about us: "Begin by Gathering Supplies deliver an imaginative pastiche of dub-influenced rhythms, well placed, minimal bursts of electronica that range from the psychedelic to the muscular, spare but strikingly ambient guitar textures, earnest and, though never over-wrought, impassioned vocals, and socially conscious lyrics which are refreshing in their personal and prosaic, as opposed to didactic, content. There is definitely a bold fusion stirring here, a mass of creative energy combined with a slinky danceability that a lot of itchy guitar based indie bands should do well to take cues from."

Glad to see BBGS still runnin' strong in 2047, no original members are still alive due to their rather...we'll say, unhealthy lifestyle choices but still, it's almost like seeing them in their prime!
