"Geyser - Anthology of the Icelandic Independent Music Scene of the Eighties was a compilation released in 1987 by the record label Enigma Records. With 11 tracks, this Icelandic compilation, which was issued in LP and MC format, featured some of the most important groups of the 1980s of the punk, New Wave and gothic scene.
The New Wave group, Þeyr appears with "Killer Boogie" one of their smash hits from As Above..., their last album, which was released in 1982. Other important band featured here is Purrkur Pillnikk, which was led by the vocalist Einar Örn Benediktsson. Also the grandfather of Rock, Megas appears with "Kóndor". Bubbi Morthens and his band Das Kapital appears with "Svartur Gítar". KUKL, a group formed by Björk, Einar Örn, Guðlaugur Kristinn Óttarsson, Sigtryggur Baldursson (both from Þeyr), next to Birgir Mogensen and Einar Melax are featured with their song "Man on the Cross", which is also known as "Greece (Just by the Book)" and was taken from Holidays in Europe (The Naughty Nought) (1986)."

"Originally released back in 1999, Seven Eyes, Seven Horns gives fans of cerebral rap another chance to enjoy the off-kilter style Scaramanga (aka Sir Menelik) established on Kool Keith's Dr. Octagon project. Combining an intricate, wordy flow with relentless delivery, Scaramanga wavers between kicking knowledge (the previously released "7XL" from Soundbombing II) and shameless hedonistic indulgence on "Strip Club Bait." The latter is almost entirely constructed of phone-tone blips, and the inventive sounds showcased on this album also include thumb piano plucks on "Sugar 99." The overall sound, however, leans towards the sparsely arranged New York boom bap of the early 90s. Producers here include Godfather Don, whose smooth soundscapes provide a complimentary contrast to Scaramanga's complex verbal barrage. Scara's Wu-style stream of consciousness flow is certainly capable. But for those with limited attention spans, its lack of curveballs and change-ups detracts from his vivid lyricism, and an otherwise solid effort. --Del F. Cowie"
