Vaughan & Fiona Staples Announce Year-Long Saga HiatusI'm fine with this, they've been at this for a long time and have been very, very busy with other things as well. I also think they deserve to take the time and figure out how to finish this, the last few arcs did at times feel a aimless and drawn out.Absolutely.The weird part?Right now, a lot of the creators publishing through Image Comics are calling their shots as far a scheduling. Moonshine(Prohibition-era werewolf tale from the team behind 100 Bullets) has been coming out in six issue arcs with months long breaks in between arcs. You'd be surprised at the folks on "Comics" message boards that are throwing fits about a team having the nerve to do so instead of sticking to a "Twelve Months/Twelve Issues" model.

I think the most interesting fine art (blech) work is being done in comics. I've really fallen out of print collecting, which even in the non-MIB-actioncomics#1 world still has the have/have-nots element of affordability Janeway mentions, which I think is a detriment to the form and its digital possibilities. Print also caries within it unfortunate politics.Glad that personal favorite publisher, 2dcloud, have made certain parts of their catalog available for online reading. Wish they did it for everything! Special shout outs to Margot Ferrick and recent pick-up/old personal fav Alexis Beauclair. Alumn Aidan Koch also I think is important. Simon Hanselmann also continues to put stuff online, good 4 them. His books are 20 bucks tho, which is like good show price, and 3 of 'em cover pretty much the whole arc of his world (Megahex, Amsterdam, One More Year). I picked up Megahex many moons ago cuz of FM goatlord, and it gets hell of re-reads over here.In other spaces I've gushed over Adam Buttrick's work, which is amaaazeriiinnn. Patrick Kyle also cracks me the fuck up while also bein super pretty to look at. New Comics 7 a personal faav. Also motherfucking Olivier Schrauwen is so good, and all his books are good, PM me for s e c r e t a c c e s s to risograph masterpiece Arsene Schrauwen (all he does is make comics about his fake relatives). All around rad dude.
