You were hoping for some Cool Hand Luke action, busbus?

I prefer the Newman's Own version of Oreos. Don't you? They're organic and soon to be a collectors item.

Makes me hate my 10 year long battle with cigs.

Fuckin a! They are far superior to Oreo's.

Don't battle it, you will only give up when you are ready.

busbus wrote:It was pretty surreal to see that house from Lake Delton fall into the new tributary of the Wisconsin River on CNN over and over. Supposedly the village of Lake Delton and FEMA(a long time ago) could not agree on a figure for what is flood stage. As a result, those folks couldn't buy flood insurance as FEMA wouldn't certify the area or rather FEMA didn't come to an agreement with the village as to what an exceptable flood crest level was. Sad.

So should Lake Delton now be called Delton?

I doubt they would have been able to afford flood insurance even if it was available. If you live in a flood plain I think the rates for insurance are pretty high. So, a lot of people living in flood plains go without flood insurance.

Part of the reason for this is to discourage people from building in flood plains in the first place. If you live in such places, you should expect the water to be lapping at your windows someday.

They are saying that once the breach is fixed, Lake Delton will take about 60 days to refill, depending on the amount of rain.

107 in my motherfucking house, bitches!

A guy from the Gas Company is next door doing something with gas/fire. Who the fuck would call out a man to purposely create additional heat in their house right now?
I think the heat has caused the delirium to set in. (neighbor, not me) To test my theory, I will go and offer him a parka after the Gas man leaves. If he joyfully accepts the parka, I call the loony people to come and retrieve said neighbor and his new parka.

I shall commence the "Dude, you're a nutter if you take my parka" plan at once.

This is brilliant!

I will report back with my findings.

Today was awesome. A nice warm morning. The afternoon was humid and breezy with a slight sunshower/short thunderstorm. The early evening had a brief but fierce rain/thunder shower, followed by amazing partial cloud cover with a gorgeous sunset that was nice to walk in, while the lady and I hopped over to Merla Mae for a kick ass ice cream.

I'm not usually one to bitch about the heat, but FUCK IT IS HOT.

I went to get my hair cut and was denied because alf the staff at Rudy's went home early due to the heat. If weren't neurotic about the shape of my head, I would just shave it.
