Dr Tony Balls wrote:Couple of remote switches for off-board effects.HotThese beauties are enroute to me. The right one is for a Space Echo and the left one is for a Multivox Little David phaser (touted as a Leslie simulator which is a stretch, but sounds really cool with 2 amps). Probably a waste of the Doctor's talents to do what's essentially passive boxes but I'm psyched he took on the project and kept me from making a couple janky LED-less boxes labeled with a sharpie.

Looks like the chassis was all bent up too?Eh....it's a PRF deal for Elisha. The restoration wasnt really that intense though because the power section was pretty much intact. Chassis was bent too, and i wound up getting that a little better.

Transition from heavily, heavily modified Sunn Model T back to normal Model T:This thing had four added preamp tubes, a reverb tank, two extra transformers for heater supply....it was a mess. Oh yeah it also had uncovered power supply caps on the OUTSIDE of the chassis. Yikes.

4 extra tubes is wild. 1 for fx loop, 2 for reverb, maybe a boost circuit in the other?Dr. Balls, have you ever considered Fender PS clones using power amp voltages that modern 6550s can handle? Like a PS154, with the 77 watt per pair specs from the tube data sheets?

I have built an amp (my personal bass amp) that tries to get the most out of a pair of KT88s, though. Ultralinear operation with elevated plate voltages and you can 100 watts out of a pair.

I'm always down for a good tale of someone setting some gear-sin right. I still can't believe someone tacked on 4 preamp tubes, TWO transformers and a reverb tank onto a model T!

Hey, my amp! Awesome! I cant wait to play through it. The guy I bought it from said he didn't know anything about it but I have a suspicion that he may have done the mods himself or maybe a friend did them or something. He was certainly willing to sell it cheap when I pointed out the extra tubes, transformers and the electronics on the outside of the chassis.
