Get along great, cohabiting since Spring 2020 to care for our kid during the apooocalypse.

Divorce finalized today.

I’ll be under the porch, with the rats who found the birdseed.
aw sweetest. sorry. and congratulations.

Was this meant to be dickish? Because it comes off pretty dickish.
no, not meant to be dickish, meant to be supportive and sympathetic.

too curt?

Oh jeez, Bumble. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Sending best wishes, and a sloth:

I recorded a short album's worth of drums today. My timing is terrible; the last 2 years I haven't had much time to play and it shows. But I have some ideas I need to get out of my head, and demos are just sketches for later anyway. Probably going to apply for an LICSW-track job at a well-known hospital in the region. It's either that or case management, which feels like it would drive me insane... especially since I have some minor clinical experience already. The policy, advocacy, research, and public administration jobs I was initially looking for just aren't materializing, so I'm going to have to take a roundabout path. No biggie.

I just read it wrong. I'm glad people can be supportive on this thing. Divorce is hard.

I try very hard to only be dickish to dicks.

Bumble is so NOT a dick, she is one of the best people on this thing.

She started the Little Details thread the last time. Something about a "drag queen with a completely rad voice". She's the best. And I've never even met her.

Divorce is hard and scary. I am lucky I have been married for 24 years, I only have second-hand experience. Although usually it works out in the long run.. That's what the "NEXT" comment was about. Like - let's get excited for the next chapter. Grieving and growth happen at the same time.

Woke up this morning with a tremendous sense of clarity after having a dream that my skin was melting. I’ve been in a fog for several months, and this is the first day I’ve been able to think straight in awhile. I hope it lasts. I switched up my allergy meds, and that might have everything to do with it.

Just as I left it. All of the calendars on the wall and in the cubes still say March 2020. And there's like 10 people here in a building that normally has somewhere approaching 1000.

It is so fucked up.. like the next thing I plan to see is a herd of zombies coming around the corner of the hall.
Today is my first day back in the office since March 15th, 2020. I spent the morning cleaning up all the accumulated junk mail, demo gear shipping boxes and expired snack and shelf-stable foods stashed here, as well as dusting. I also was provided a new laptop during work-from-home, so I had to set up a second docking station here and then run and get the appropriate cables and connectors - since everything else is still at home for the 2-3 days a week we'll still be working from home.

When the shit hit the fan here in Portland over the summer and the "riots" were going on, I took all my artwork of any value from the walls, as well as the camera collection I had on display - both of which now populate my home office. Not sure what will return to brighten up and add interest to this space yet.

Weird-ass 18 months, all said and done...

Don't mean to sound insensitive, I know a lot of people are stuggling, but this past year has been the best for me in a loooong time.

haha i came home with gluten free dino nuggets and my mom busted out the dinosaur train theme song and i was glowing and giggling and my mom was doing these rockabilly 3d moves lol and she's "haven't you seen dinosaur train? the mom pteradon has her three babies and then some t. rex dropped her egg in there and the mom pteradon shrugs her shoulders and says welp and then they fly to catch their train and everywhere they go the mom pteradon has to pick up the baby t. rex cause he can't fly with the others haha dinosaur traiiiin lol

i was like omg and then we both started making fun of bob the builder cause the theme song goes "too effing busy.. gotta save the day" and then we got into how calliou was so whiny and his mom and dad were twins tho so poor rosie and calliou anyways life is silly sometimes :P
