I bought a Wizard to try out, it was pretty good. Lots of modelers can use third-party IRs. The Eminence IRs have mic and mic position options, too.
Figured I'd move this here. That's cool, but for the "re-amp'ing" stuff I had in mind I'd probably reach more for an EV type, high headroom speaker like the EM12s. I sort of suspect this would replace compression for me (or what I look for out of compression at least) much of the time.

I've been tweaking the wizard, there's some extra controls in my modeler. It does sound great, and I found that I was able to dial things in a little more appropriately for the IR that matches my cab, a huge help. I also edited the global EQ to have hi and low pass filters (40hz and 20khz) . One thing I wish I could do in the modeler is blend IRs, but there's not a way to split the chain in an appropriate way. I can in the computer, though. Would be really interesting to blend a Governor and a Wizard (which is what is in my cab), with 1-2 mics for EQing.

Newest Genome version released. The amount of included amps and effects has increased. The pay-for plugins are pretty good, but the included ones are pretty amazing. The studio reverb is phenomenal, to just start there. Super impressive what you get for the price, and it all sounds good. Amazing that it's free with the purchase of any Two-Notes products.

JHS pedals, Benson preamps, oh my! These plugins look really cool. The amp studios in particular look interesting.

I had one on loan, and it does a lot of stuff, but I don’t know, didn’t rattle my undies.

This is a cool idea, but with the price of $1199 in an era of inexpensive modelers and pedals and the fact that bass doesn't suffer the same problems with guitar in terms of plugging in direct with a preamp... I dunno, is this gonna be a flop? Most multi-effect modelers are focused on guitar, with some bass options. This is the first bass-only multi-effect modeler and before I saw the price, I figured it would be something ridiculous like $600.

Yeah, but Darkglass has a built-in (though limited) audience that's seeing this and thinking, "OH HELL YEAH, BROTHER."

Just looking at this gives me a headache. We'll see how long it takes before they start trying to fire-sale these...
