In all seriousness though, all the good games have been later kick offs. The earlier kick offs have largely been dire. I'm not sure if this is coincidence, or reflects a meaningful pattern... heat, maybe? atmosphere?
Early kick offs:
Switzerland 0-1 Czech Republic - pretty rubbish
Austria 0-1 Croatia - rubbish
France 0-0 Romania - dire
Later kick-offs:
Portugal 2-0 Turkey - pretty good game
Germany 2-0 Poland - very good game
Holland 3-0 Italy - great game
Hmmm.....
Somehow I can't see Greece - Sweden continuing this trend.

I think it's hilarious the way all the pundits are wetting themselves over Spain and Holland, declaring their genius and installing them as favourites after one game. Have these people never followed a major football tournament before?
Having both spaffed all their goals in the opening games, they'll probably go out in the first knockout stage.
France or Italy will win this tournament, depending on who gets out of the group.

In essence I agree, you dont really want to be playing your best football yet which makes France quite ominous.
Highly enjoyable despite the absence of any major surprises.
