I had this argument with friends when Bush Jr. was president. They were voting for Nader. I liked Nader, but it felt like throwing away everything to vote for him. Looking back, you can see all the damage done and how we got here. Was it really worth voting for Nader to send a message? Absolutely not. It contributed to this fucking mess.
There is, and always be two parties in the race. Unless you're modern day Germany and you have a strong Green party, and even that sack of fools have gone to prominence and failed to do anything because everything left actually stops when they get the chance to do something.
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...

That's about the size of it really, although neither of the two main parties resemble each other in their classical senses anymore. The Lib Dems performance suggests they've regained some trust since their disastrous getting into bed with the Tories in 2010, but they won't be a legitimate candidate for government in my lifetime at least.

Biden's address last night was great. Very much the antidote we need against such a narcissistic opposition. It was very refreshing. I liked his honesty and his reasons. He sounded so soft-spoken and exhausted, it was such a relief to know that he's no longer seeking reelection.

After that I watched Harris in Indiana. Holy fucking shit, she was on fire. I hope she keeps it up. I had to rewatch the part where she said, "We ain't playing around." She's fucking funny and scary. I hope she doesn't let up saying the things she's saying. She called out Project 2025 and even called the GOP dumbasses for publishing 900 pages of pure garbage. She's done more in the last half of a week campaigning than Biden has in the last year.

On MSNBC, Chuck Todd said that Harris' address in Wisconsin was like "crackers at the Ritz." Yes, we've all been starving and a little bit of sustenance has really seemed to reenergize everyone that isn't MAGA.

You realize of course that pretty much every country has elections that they say validates their "Democratic process" including the USSR and North Korea. Thinking that any of this is special or promotes freedom by it's very existence is a fallacy. So in a year, where I am being presented with a populist moron, and a lackey that has been foisted on us by wealthy sponsors, both of which have already tried their hand in making me miserable for at minimum four years, honestly fuck off.

The UK has a ludicrously antiquated electoral system which fits in with the general Renaissance Fair vibe of England at times.

But people have learned to game the system. A big part of the reason Labour won a massive majority with a lower vote share than previous elections they lost is a lot of Labour voters in seats that were it was a Conservative vs Liberal Democrat’s race voted LibDems. In a way people have figured out how to run proportional representation in a First Passed the Post system.

The UK should move to a mixed member proportional system like NZ and Germany have. But it won’t because it doesn’t suit the party that wins the election.

To have a real third party candidate, there needs to be a viable third party. But we are stuck in the dichotomy of left vs right here in America. It's going to take quite a lot to get a viable third party. You'd think that the GOP going full MAGA would have the moderates looking to split, but I can see them joining the Democratic party before that even happening.

What you are suggesting is to throw the baby out with the bathwater. So, in your anger and haste, you'd rather see more harm done than less. I understand it's a shitty choice. So, what? You want it all to burn down? Let's say the GOP gets everything they want and it all backfires on them and they start losing electorally... it would take generations to repair the damage done.

I have kids. I just want to build garden beds for my wife, make music and raise my children. But no, I gotta deal with the stress of wondering what living under real fascism is going to be like for my family. Try to think for more than yourself for a minute. It's no longer a campaign slogan or hyperbole to think that the GOP are coming to fundamentally change our democracy. They are literally trying to do it and we are watching it play out in real time.
